I was trolling my local CL for some Teutonic Goodness when I spotted something interesting in the background of an ad. I have no idea what this car is and don't have too many guesses.... S7, Noble, kit car? What is it?
Bonus points if you can figure out what's under this tarp. Lambo on ramps?
For the curious:
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
ETA: Thanks for the speedy confirmation, y'all! Did not expect that it was an S7. A Ferrari owner I once met told me there was an S7 in town, but I thought he was talking about a black one (I think it was) that an eccentric car guy used to keep in a strip mall on the side of I-12 near Baton Rouge.
May be worth checking out in person!

Yep your first guess was correct.

Only one way to find out. Go for a test drive!

The brightly colored one? Look like an S7 to me, unless it's a replica of some sort.

That looks like the real deal s7 at least from the front.

That Boxster is a freaking deal if it isn't broken to bits.

Its a Miata because Miata is always the answer

I agree my point is it takes class and taste to buy a Saleen S7 instead of the run of the mill Lambo or ferrari .. around 700k all the way down to 250k for a 2004 .. Your typical hit it rich over night person goes and buys a lambo .. 9 times out of 10 .

I wonder if it's something like one of these kit cars...

It's awfully tempting! I'm pretty new to Boxsters though.... wondering if a Boxster for Miata money is a long-run blunder or no big deal...

$6K?!
Buy it before I do.

Woah woah woah. A S7 in Baton Rouge? How have I spent so much time there and never heard of it. I've seen a R34 Skyline in Baton Rouge before, but not this? Weird.

Also you should go ahead and get in touch with him. I demand answers!

An R34? That's awesome! If all goes to plan, I'll be driving an R32 around Baton Rouge this fall. The Boxster would be to soothe the meantime agony as I wait until the R32 has aged the requisite 25 years (so to avoid the wrath of the federal government).

But six grand!!! It'll never be worth less than that.

Yea the guy had imported it through the Florida company IIRC. He had it for a while and I would see it along Seigen quite often. I think he sold it though. Definitely let us know if you contact this guy, although it might be fake.

True. NADA says' it's worth $7,500 for a clean trade-in.

They make replica superyachts too? Only $3.2M for a replica of a $100M Oceanco superyacht? Do people really buy this stuff?
![]() 02/11/2014 at 16:53 |

Yeah, may have been from one of those sketchy R34-as-a-kit-car schemes that took place in Florida, or maybe even a Motorex car, although those were so few that it's unlikely. Ah, the lengths to which folks will go for Skylines!
I sent him a message... will let you know what he says!

Obviously someone does... the companies exist.

This company exists too... if you know what I'm sayin'.

I have a guess for the tarp.
Brown Porsche, whale tail. With a blue feather.
Sorry, I get a little antsy in the pantsy when I've been into the syrup.

He told me he had it registered in Louisiana and he had the plates to prove it. Didn't have enough time to go into specifics with him but I'm pretty sure it was registered as a kit car.
